My Story
My journey into therapy began with a deep curiosity about the human mind and relationships. Like many, I’ve faced my own emotional challenges, and through my personal experiences with therapy, I discovered the incredible potential for healing and growth. It became clear to me that true transformation happens when we prioritise and make space for it. This realisation set me on a path to support others do the same.
making space
I believe therapy is about making space both physically and emotionally, for healing, self-reflection, and growth. Trauma often limits our ability to access that space, causing us to react from places of pain or fear.
Making Space Therapy is centered on creating that inner room for your true self to take charge, rather than being dominated by parts carrying pain, fear, or self-criticism. When we make space within, we gain clarity, self-compassion, and the freedom to respond to life in new, more intentional ways. As Viktor Frankl said,
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
By prioritising space for yourself and your healing journey, you’re making the conscious choice to reconnect with who you truly are and live in alignment with your values and desires. Through this process, you can let go of emotional burdens and create room for a life that feels more authentic, compassionate, and free.
Qualifications & Recent Training
I hold a First Class Honours degree in Person-Centred Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship from University of Warwick. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), meaning I work in accordance with their professional and ethical standards. This foundation shapes my commitment to creating a safe, respectful therapeutic relationship where clients feel genuinely heard and understood.
I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with the official IFS Institute. This approach has been deeply influential for me both personally and professionally, shaping the way I understand the inner world and support meaningful change in therapy. It informs my work in helping people understand the different parts of themselves and develop greater compassion and choice in how they respond to life. I intend to complete Level 3 training as soon as the opportunity arises.
I have also completed training with the Autism Wellbeing Project as part of their Autism Affirming Therapist Accreditation. This supports my neuroaffirming approach, recognising that people experience and process the world in different ways and ensuring autistic clients feel understood rather than pathologised.
Additionally, I hold a Level 3 qualification in Working with Survivors of Sexual Abuse. This training has deepened my understanding of trauma more broadly, including developmental trauma and attachment patterns, and supports the way I work with clients who have experienced complex or early relational trauma.

My commitment to ongoing professional development is reflected in the following recent CPD (Continuing Professional Development): PESI Polyvagal Informed Practitioner Course – Deepening my understanding of how the nervous system impacts trauma recovery. Counselling Tutor Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling Carolyn Spring trainings: Childhood Sexual Assault: Hope for Healing Trauma and The Body: Dissociation & Somatisation Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice Working with Relational Trauma: Dealing with Disorganised Attachment Working with Shame Working therapeutically with Complex PTSD Introduction to the Nervous System – Understanding the role of the nervous system in trauma. Embracing the Shadow – Exploring the impact of the unconscious mind on behaviour and emotions. Childhood Sexual Abuse: The Body Keeps the Score From Anxious to Resilient: Using Breathwork and Embodiment Practices Trauma and Brain Plasticity – Understanding the brain’s capacity to heal from trauma. Each of these courses and experiences has deepened my expertise in trauma-informed therapy and provided me with tools to offer safe, supportive spaces for my clients' healing journeys.
