working together
making space
Sometimes life just feels like too much. You might be holding everything together on the outside, while inside you feel overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected. Maybe something has shifted, or maybe it’s been like this for a while — heavy, uncertain, hard to explain, and harder still to carry on your own.
Therapy offers a different kind of space. A chance to pause and turn your attention inward. To meet yourself with care, even if you’re not quite sure what you’ll find. It can be a relief just to have room to breathe, to speak things out loud, and to be met without judgment or pressure.
This is space for your story, your feelings, and the parts of you that have quietly carried more than their share. The ones that try to hold it all together, or the ones that shut everything down. The ones that are protective, unsure, or simply exhausted.
There’s no need to arrive with answers or to be ready in any particular way. We begin with whatever is here and work gently from there — with curiosity, compassion, and care. Over time, things begin to shift. Patterns start to soften. And little by little, more of you can come into view.
You might find more room to breathe. More clarity. A sense of coming home to yourself.
How I hold that space, and the approach I use, is an important part of the work.
my approach
I’m an integrative therapist, grounded in a person-centred approach and trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS). That means I bring a gentle, respectful curiosity to whatever you’re carrying, and I trust in your capacity to heal — not by being told what to do, but by having the space to truly listen to yourself.
I hold the relationship at the heart of the work. It's not about analysing from a distance. It's about being present with you, attuned, and open to whatever shows up. Whether you're bringing grief, confusion, anger, or numbness, we can be with it together.
IFS offers a powerful way to explore your inner experience. It’s based on the understanding that we all have different parts within us — like the part that tries to stay in control, the part that criticises, the part that goes quiet, or the part that still holds pain from the past.
These parts aren't problems to fix or get rid of. They formed for a reason. In therapy, we begin to understand them, build trust with them, and gently support them to soften. When those parts feel less alone and more supported, they often begin to let go. And that’s when something deeper starts to come through.
I was drawn to IFS because it honours the complexity of being human. It offers a way of working that’s both structured and deeply compassionate, helping clients feel less fragmented and more like themselves again. Many people tell me they find relief in finally understanding why they do what they do — and discovering that those patterns make sense when seen through the lens of care.
This is the heart of the work for me: creating a space where nothing is too much, and where every part of you has the chance to be understood.
You might be feeling...
-
Burnt out, overloaded, or like you’re running on autopilot
-
Caught in patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, or self-doubt
-
Anxious, numb, or overwhelmed by feelings you can’t quite name
-
Exhausted from always holding it together, especially for others
-
Unsure who you are anymore, or what you need
-
Struggling to feel present or connected to yourself
-
Haunted by experiences from the past, even if you’ve never told anyone
-
Stuck in behaviours that don’t feel like choices
-
Carrying a quiet heaviness that’s hard to explain
Whatever your experience, it’s welcome here.
You don’t have to fit a category or have the right words.
This space is for you, just as you are.
What Our Work Can Offer
This isn’t a space where you have to make sense or hold it all together.
It’s not about being fixed, and it’s not about being judged.
It’s a space where every part of your experience is welcome. Even the ones you’ve been avoiding, when the time feels right to meet them. The ones that feel protective, unsure, overwhelmed, or hard to name.
I bring a calm, grounded presence. I listen carefully to what’s said and what’s not said. I won’t rush you, and I won’t push past what isn’t ready. If it feels safe, we can explore things gently, in your way and at your pace.
This is more than therapy. It’s relationship. It’s deep attunement. It’s the experience of being truly met, which can make it possible to meet yourself in a new way.
Sometimes that might look like getting curious about the part of you that shuts down or holds back. Or noticing how another part tries to keep everything under control. We might bring awareness to what’s happening in your body in those moments, without trying to change it. Often, just making space for that can begin to shift something.
You might find that:
-
You start to feel more settled in your nervous system
-
Patterns begin to soften, not through effort but through understanding
-
Protective parts feel less alone and more supported
-
You reconnect with aspects of yourself that have gone quiet
-
You feel more like yourself — clearer, steadier, more alive
I know what it’s like to carry things that are hard to name.
And I’ve seen again and again what becomes possible when someone is finally given the space to be fully met, without pressure or performance. This work changes people. Not because it forces them to be different, but because it helps them come home to who they already are.
There’s no need to be any particular way. We begin with whatever is here.
And wherever that is, we work from there.
Practicalities
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place either online or in person at Lifeways Therapy Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon. I also offer telephone sessions if that feels safer or more accessible.
We usually meet weekly at a regular time, though this can be flexible depending on your needs. Some clients come for a short period of focused work, while others stay longer. There’s no pressure either way — we decide together what feels right.
My fee is £80 per session. I don’t offer sliding scale places at the moment, but I work with a charity alongside my private practice, which means I’m sometimes able to signpost to low-cost options if needed.
I offer a free 15-minute call so we can see whether it feels like a good fit before booking a first session.
invitation to reach out
Therapy can feel like a big step and it is.
It’s also a step toward listening more closely to yourself.
You don’t have to be in crisis to reach out. You might just be tired of carrying things alone.
If you’re wondering whether we might be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out.
I offer a free 15-minute call so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work.
If you’re interested in working together, I invite you to request a consultation to see if we’re a good fit or drop me an email.
how can therapy help you?
It’s impossible to list every way therapy might support you because each journey is as unique as the person undertaking it. The way I work is to be with you, whatever you’re experiencing, offering a gentle and compassionate space where you can feel safe to explore what you bring.
What do I offer? A space without judgment. A space to be real, to feel held and attuned to. A space where your experiences, emotions, and needs are met with curiosity and care. Together, we’ll create a container where you can explore, unburden, and reconnect with your authentic Self, allowing you to heal and move forward in a way that feels true to you.
